STRESSONIC\u00ae peening process<\/h2>\n

SONATS, our sister company, created the STRESSONIC\u00ae peening process to improve the fatigue resistance of metal parts. It is a mechanical cold impact treatment of the surface of metallic components or structures.<\/p>\n

Surface treatment applications include shot peening (USP)<\/a>, ultrasonic needle straightening or peen forming (UPF)<\/a>, and weld impact treatment (UIT)<\/a>.[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_column_inner][\/vc_row_inner][\/vc_column][\/vc_row][vc_row gap=”35″][vc_column][vc_row_inner gap=”35″][vc_column_inner width=”1\/2″][vc_column_text]<\/p>\n

STRESSONIC\u00ae PEENING PRINCIPLE<\/h3>\n

The generator digitally creates an ultrasonic range frequency (20 kHz) sine wave.<\/p>\n

A piezoelectric transmitter converts this wave into a low amplitude mechanical wave. This wave is then increased by a succession of boosters stages and by the sonotrode.<\/p>\n

The mechanical energy resulting from the vibration of the sonotrode is then transmitted to a free-motion media projected against the metal part to be treated.<\/p>\n

The media may be beads placed in a chamber (shot peening), or it may be needles\/impactors (straightening, impact treatment).<\/p>\n

Ultrasonic waves are not transmitted to the part to be treated.<\/p>\n

Media<\/strong>: The quality of the material is controlled. The mass is constant, as is the number of beads in the chamber.<\/p>\n

Kinetic energy:<\/strong> The amplitude and frequency control allows a very precise control of the kinetic energy of the media.<\/p>\n
