Robotized Trimming Process
Trimming is mainly carried out on composite parts for which certain manufacturing processes require resizing.
For example, for RTM injection, it is necessary to remove the excess resin creep at the parting line of the mould. In the case of thermoforming, the skirt, a surplus of material inherent in this process, must be removed.
The trimming process is also used on metal parts. Indeed, for parts produced by hot or cold forming, it may be necessary to remove the excess material.
Trimming is still often a manual operation for many industries. Indeed, the quality of the trimming depends on the skills and the dexterity of an operator.
It is a particularly arduous job because the efforts required are significant with permanent exposure to dust. Moreover, some parts require tolerances that cannot be achieved by hand.
GEBE2 designs and builds robotic solutions to perform trimming operations. To do this, we rely on methods of transforming parts in space based on our experience in the field of machining (definition of the cutting parameter).
We thus provide robotic trimming cells for all your composite or metal parts.
Robotising your trimming operations ensures productivity, operator comfort and quality finishes.
