Robotic trimming for composite and metal parts

ROBOTIC TRIMMING KNOW-HOW

To meet your needs and provide you with the most suitable solution, you can rely on our expertise:

  • transformation and adaptation of the trajectory,
  • on controlling robot deformations linked to cutting forces,
  • on mastering the tools and cutting parameters adapted to the materials / geometries,

Our robotic routing cells are equipped with electrospindles, automatic parts movement systems, definition of the spindle TCP, and tool changers.

These different options/configurations make them particularly suitable for medium-speed production under the best conditions of cycle time, quality and safety.

Moreover, on high value parts, compliance with tolerances also depends on taking into account the real geometry obtained after firing. Our robots are equipped with mechanical or laser contact probes to measure the position and exact shape of workpieces. The trimming paths are executed after recording by bestfit. This technology is particularly advantageous on large, flexible parts for which the tools are very expensive.

TRIMMING COMPOSITE POLYESTER PARTS

Trimming the front of a motorhome.

The part is held by vacuum cups on a wheeled trolley. The robot trims the parts on-demand. The trolley is indexed on a turntable that can handle medium parts: 2.5m x 2.5m x 2.5m

Two robots work simultaneously on one or more parts when short cycle times are needed as in the automotive industry.

The parts are loaded onto a swinging turntable in hidden time.

Waste products are evacuated automatically in order to achieve high availability rates.
